Losing the Online Generation

by Paul on September 1, 2010

Most of the issues facing churches and ministries these days are not technology issues. They are discipleship issues. Technology is just a spotlight, a magnifying glass, revealing overlooked or hidden problems with discipleship in the Western church and its progeny. If we don’t address the discipleship issues, we will create another generation of predominately shallow and infertile Christians…and we will have a great time playing with out websites and iPads in the process.

If you don’t have a plan to make disciples…
If you don’t know how what you do fits into a disciple making strategy…
If you think discipleship just happens…
If you thing making disciples is someone else’s job…

…you are probably part of the problem. Or you didn’t know there was a problem.

Don’t whine about it.
Don’t whine to me.
Fix it.
Have the hard meetings.
Then do something about it.

“Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-29, HCSB
