Not Another Penny

“If you never got another penny, what would you do to obey God’s call?”

He always follows the first question with another,

“Why aren’t you doing it now?”

Let me refocus the question: If you want to reach the Online Generation, what can you do - right now - with no money and just a limited amount of time?

Get a Facebook Account

If you do not have a Facebook account, stop reading right now and jump on over to http://www.facebook.com and sign up. The account is free. Social networking doesn’t get any easier. Update your Facebook status at breakfast, lunch, and dinner and you will be on your way.

Summize Prayer

Go to http://www.summize.com and type the word ‘Pray’ into the search box. Spend five minutes praying for people on Twitter asking for prayer. If you want to let them know you prayed, sign up for a free Twitter account here. On Summize you can hit the ‘Reply’ button and immediately reply to prayer requests.

Start a Blog

Blogs are like online journals. The best blogs are updated at least five times a week. If you want to commit to a blog, you can get an account with Blogger. It’s free! Some of my favorite bloggers are Seth Godin, Michael Hyatt, Carlos, Anne Jackson, and Tall Skinny Kiwi. They’re a pretty diverse bunch, and will expose you to a variety of blogging styles. They’ve been blogging for years, so don’t let their blogs intimidate you.

There you go. Three easy and free ways to engage the Online Generation.

Time and money should never stop you from obeying God. There is always a way if you love Him enough to find it.
