My Daughter’s Generation

by Paul on July 17, 2008

My daughter checks the weather on our iGoogle homepage. She wants to know what to wear to school. She plays with her cousin on Webkins, an interactive online environment for kids. Her cousin lives over 300 miles away. She plays different educational games online through pbsKids and Noggin. She knows her username, password, and not to give out personal information online. She knows how to answer ooVoo calls. This morning she read the back of a Littlest Pet Shop box and was excited because it had a URL that would allow her to play games online.

She is six years old. She just finished her first year of school.

She is teaching my son to play online. He is three.

They are my reasons for engaging the Online Generation. What are yours?
